Our homes benefit the community, as well as our stakeholders
At Sirius Partners, our homes are designed to be sustainable, not just for the planet, but also for our homeowners.
We ensure that our homes and our communities can reap the benefits upon day one and for many years and generations going forwards.
We aim to have all our homeowners receive benefits from various green incentives and allowances provided by the UK government. In some cases, our projects can result in economic advantage to homeowners of between £45,000 to £52,000 over a 7-year period of ownership (assuming a £500,000 mortgage).

RHI is a scheme designed to help and incentivize homes that make use of renewable energy heating technologies such as heat pumps. The RHI could produce a quarterly payment for a period of 7 years. It is said that the Clean Heat Grant, which is a new proposal, is expected to replace RHI after March 2022.
The RHI was first established in April 2014, and on the 22nd of May 2018, the latest regulations came into effect. RHI was set up to minimise the effects of climate change, as well as being the main driver towards the UK’s goal for 2020, which was to have 12% of heating coming from renewable energy sources.

The Smart Export Guarantee incentivises UK homes that have installed renewable energy technologies like solar panels to generate electricity for their homes. With SEG, a homeowner can sell the surplus energy generated by the renewable technology back to the grid and earn money.
In June of 2019, the UK set a goal to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. As part of pursuing that target, on 1 January 2020, the government instituted the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme.
Under the SEG, energy companies will offer homeowner tariffs for the renewable energy that is exported to the National Grid. Sirius homes aim to meet the criteria to receive these tariffs.

The ECO is a government energy efficiency initiative to lower carbon emissions by supporting low income and vulnerable households to heat their homes. At Sirius Partners, we build homes of all shapes and sizes to cater to all types of homeowners.
ECO is a domestic energy efficiency programme that was introduced in January 2013 to lower the UK’s energy consumption by supporting people living in a fuel poverty. The programme can help households reduce energy loss from a property and lead to less energy use.
Since energy efficiency plays a major role in helping to reduce energy bills, following installation of most measures the difference will be immediate. Every property will require different measures to get the most effective results, which is why it is essential for the householder to work closely with their provider to select the best options.

A green mortgage is one that rewards a homeowner for buying or owning an energy-efficient home by offering them more favourable terms than come as standard. Now, that typically means either getting a slightly lower interest rate, or cashback when a homeowner out the mortgage, or both.
